8 Pillars

What On-Page SEO Services Cover

On-page SEO refers to the work of optimizing individual web pages so they rank for the keywords they target. Our on-page SEO companies peers often sell this as one piece; we run it as a full coordinated program.

Title Tag and Meta Description Optimization

Title tags and meta descriptions are the first thing search engines read and the first thing a searcher sees on the search engine results pages. We rewrite titles and meta tag optimization so they target the right keywords, stay within the character limits that avoid truncation, and actually earn the click. For pages with existing rankings, title tag changes alone can lift click-through rates 20 to 50 percent.

Heading Structure and On-Page Elements

H1, H2, and H3 headings tell search engines the structure and the topic hierarchy of a page. We rewrite heading structures so they use relevant keywords naturally and match what the page actually covers. On-page elements like alt text, internal anchor text, and schema markup get aligned to the same topic strategy.

Content Optimization

A lot of pages rank poorly because the content on them does not actually answer the search intent. Content optimization is rewriting or restructuring existing pages so they match what the searcher is trying to accomplish. For pages that already rank, this is usually a faster path to improving search engine rankings than writing new content.

Keyword Research and Mapping

Before any on-page SEO strategy ships, we map target keywords to specific pages. One page, one primary keyword target, with related long-tail queries and relevant keywords supporting it. The alternative (many pages fighting over the same keyword) is a classic consolidation problem Adam flags: “Instead of creating separate pages for each service, they consolidate it to one single page. That causes confusion to the search engines, because they’re like, ‘hey, I see one page with a bunch of different references to different services.'”

Internal Linking

Internal links do two things: they tell search engines which pages matter most on your site, and they move authority from high-ranking pages to pages that need a lift. We audit internal link structure, fix orphan pages, and add contextual internal links during every on-page SEO engagement.

Content Gap Analysis

Gap analysis compares your page-level coverage to what is actually ranking for your target keywords. We find the queries your competitors rank for that you do not, the subtopics missing from your pages, and the content gaps that are leaving search engine rankings on the table. Gap analysis is how we turn keyword research into a prioritized on-page roadmap.

Mobile Optimization

Most search now happens on mobile. Mobile optimization as an on-page SEO discipline means readable font sizes, tap targets that do not require pinch-zoom, fast load on mobile connections, and a content layout that actually works on a phone screen. Google indexes mobile-first, so a site that reads poorly on mobile ranks poorly on all devices.

Site Speed and On-Page Technical Touchpoints

Site speed is primarily a technical SEO concern, but on-page decisions (image weights, embedded video, third-party scripts per page) affect it. We make on-page decisions with page-speed budgets in mind and coordinate with the technical SEO team on implementation.

"When an AI system is deciding what to say about my category, why would it name my company instead of my competitors? That question changes almost everything."

What Makes Our Process Different

How On-Page SEO Drives Rankings

On-page SEO drives rankings through what search engines read, not surface polish. The four principles below are the ones that consistently move the terms you target.

People skim, but search engines read

On-page SEO has a built-in tension: search engines still reward depth, but visitors skim. Adam’s framing: “People do not read, they skim. People read roughly only 20 percent or less of any given piece of content.” And separately: “Nobody wants to see a wall of text. But at the same time, that content is what those systems cling on to.” The answer is page structure that lets skimmers get what they need (clear headings, short paragraphs, bullet lists, pull quotes) while still covering the topic with enough depth for search engines to understand it.

One page, one primary keyword

The fastest way to improve search engine rankings on a specific term is to have one page that is unambiguously about that topic. Pages that try to rank for five services at once usually rank for none of them well. Splitting consolidated pages into dedicated service pages is one of the highest-impact on-page SEO moves for businesses that have grown through acquisition or added services over time.

Theme over keyword

Our founder’s counter-framing: “A single piece of content can rank for one or many terms. The reason this matters is we want to focus less on a particular keyword, although we do want that as our anchor. We want to look at a piece of content as: what is the theme of this piece of content?” A page built around a theme (not just a keyword) ends up ranking for the primary target plus dozens of related long-tail queries.

Hub-and-spoke topical authority

The structure of on-page SEO across a site matters as much as the structure of individual pages. Hub-and-spoke is the model: a pillar page anchors a topic, cluster pages go deeper on subtopics, spoke pages target long-tail queries. Internal links tie the hub to the spokes. Search engines recognize the pattern and treat the site as a topical authority in the category.

Our Process

Your First 60 Days With Enleaf

Spokane engagements tend to move at the same predictable pace. Here is what the first two months look like.

1

Strategy Call

A 30-minute call with one of our strategists, usually in our Spokane office or over video. We review your current site, traffic, Google Business Profile, and competitors before the meeting so we arrive with questions, not a generic pitch deck.

2

Audit & Benchmark

Over the next two weeks we run a full audit: technical SEO, keyword rankings, paid ad history, content gaps, and a competitive picture of the Spokane market. You receive a written report with prioritized fixes.

3

Custom digital marketing strategy

We build a plan sized to your budget and business today, with phased deliverables across 90-day sprints. Nothing we propose is boilerplate.

4

Production

Content creation, page builds, ppc campaigns, social posts, email campaigns, local SEO work, and link acquisition, whatever the plan calls for. Our internal production team handles it.

5

Report & Iterate

Monthly reporting against the metrics we agreed on up front, and quarterly strategy resets to adjust based on what is working.

What Makes Us Different

Why Choose Enleaf for On-Page SEO

Most businesses we work with have already had on-page SEO done somewhere else, usually as a checklist with no strategy behind it. Teams who move their on-page SEO to Enleaf almost always cite the same handful of reasons.

On-page SEO with technical SEO context

Most on-page SEO agency work we replace was done without any technical SEO context. The result: pages that were well-written but never indexed, or pages that were optimized individually without considering site-wide internal linking. We run on-page SEO as part of a coordinated program so the work stacks.

Content-plus-structure, not just checklist SEO

A lot of on-page SEO service providers run down a 40-item checklist per page and call it done. The checklist approach misses what matters: search intent, content depth, topical authority, and the internal link structure across the site. Our approach starts from the keyword strategy and builds up.

Documented results across industries

Our published case studies include Kasa (+1,173% keyword rankings) and Stay Alfred (+412% organic revenue), both driven heavily by on-page restructures and content optimization. For teams that want proof before signing, the numbers are on our case studies page.

Coordinated with content writing and internal linking

On-page SEO is not a separate discipline from content creation. We coordinate the two: our content team writes pages against the on-page SEO strategy, and our on-page SEO team optimizes existing pages against the content plan. Most competitors run these as separate workstreams and the outputs do not line up.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most often on strategy calls.

What does a Spokane digital marketing agency typically charge?

Retainers for Spokane-area businesses generally start around $2,500/month for local service businesses and scale up from there based on scope. Mid-sized companies running SEO, paid media, and web maintenance typically land between $5,000 and $12,000/month. Enterprise programs with content creation, paid media, video production agency support through partners, and brand work can exceed $20,000/month. We scope every engagement individually; there are no long term contracts, just 90-day planning cycles with an out-clause.

How long does it take to see results from SEO in Spokane?

Local SEO typically shows measurable results within 90 to 120 days: more Google Business Profile views, more calls, and improvements in keyword rankings for high-intent local terms. Broader organic SEO for competitive categories (e-commerce, regional service businesses in competitive niches, multi-city operations) can take six to nine months before the numbers compound. Google Ads produces traffic within a week, but tuning to deliver qualified leads usually takes the first 30 days of lead generation data.

Do you work with small Spokane businesses, or only large brands?

Both. Our roots are small business in Spokane and the Inland Northwest, and we still serve plenty of single-location companies running modest retainers. Our main role in those relationships is being the marketing team a small business does not have in-house. We also work with larger companies including national brands that originated in Spokane. The engagement model scales to fit.

Can you handle our website and our marketing under one roof?

Yes. Web design and development is one of our core services, and we build the majority of our Spokane clients’ websites. Running the site and the marketing together is how we prevent the common problem of a new website killing the old site’s organic traffic. If you already have a site on WordPress, Shopify, or a custom platform, we can work with it; we do not require a rebuild.

What industries does your Spokane team specialize in?

Locally we have deep coverage in real estate, hospitality and vacation rentals, home services and contracting, healthcare, legal, and B2B professional services. Our national book adds e-commerce, SaaS, and enterprise advertising work. When a Spokane client is in a category we have not served before, we say so up front and decide together whether that is a fit.

Is it better to have an in-house marketing team or hire a Spokane agency?

Depends on volume and breadth. If you need one full-time role (say, a senior SEO or a paid media manager), hiring in-house makes sense. If you need SEO, paid, social, web design, email marketing, and creative, an agency is typically cheaper and faster than building that team. A common pattern for Spokane clients is a small in-house team (often a marketing coordinator) working with us as the extension that covers the specialized disciplines.
